Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more.

Yes that is a tornado and yes that is the school right beside my house! Scary?!?! Scariest part was that me and Dylan were here at the house and I absolutely didn't have a clue!!! Our neighbor took this picture. For those of you unfamiliar with this area. Our house is located between the school and the tornado in the picture. It touched down just southeast of here. Luckily, it didn't do any damage or hurt anyone. Goodness! I guess I better start paying attention to the weather.

Dylan 1 Month

Dylan is 1 month old today!

One month ago today the Lord blessed us with this sweet little bundle of joy. The time has flown by. I still remember every moment of that day. I am enjoying every moment I get with this little man. He is growing like crazy. He was born at 9.5 lbs and 21 1/2" long. At his 2 week check-up he weighed 10.7 lbs and 22" long. At 3 weeks and 5 days he weighed right at 12 lbs. I absolutely LOVE his chunky legs, and how his arms and face are filling out.

We went in today for shots, not fun! At least he only had to have 1 today. Next time it's 2. At least we have a month though. We do not have to go back until he is 2 months.

As I was waiting for the elevator to leave today, a lady (also lugging around an infant carrier) asked me how old Dylan was. Turned out Dylan at a month looks just as big as her 10 week old, lol. Got to love my healthy boy.

I will try my hardest to continue to update this with new pictures!

Lots of love~

4 months later - I blog!

So it's been awhile since my last post. I am going to try really really hard to start blogging more and getting in the hang of it. I know once the little guy gets here my world is going to be turned upside down.

The past 4 months have been absolutely flown by. It is hard to believe that I am now 4 weeks away from my due date. Since my last post we discovered that the little baby in my tummy is most definitely a boy. His name is going to be Jeremiah Dylan Polk. He will have the same initials as his daddy and his grandpa, JDP. But we are going to call him Dylan.

Little Dylan will be here before we know it. I absolutely can not wait to meet him.
Here are a few of the 3-D sonogram pictures we had done at 30 weeks.

It is so amazing to get to see so much detail of him. I love every bit of him. God has blessed us so much already. We are so excited to get to meet our little miracle that God has given us.

Love,
Jen

Spiders... EEK!

Spiders normally totally freak me out.

But these were too sweet to resist.

I made these for Halloween, for ladies bible study and my neighbors.

They were super easy!

I can't take credit for the idea.

I've become addicted to this blog, bakerella.com

She has such cute ideas.

I can definately predict there will be more sweet treats to come!

My Furry Child

So I might not have a child to blog about yet, but I do have a dog. :)

Most of you have been introduced to Hannah. She is my "furry" child.

Everyone keeps asking me what is Hannah going to do when the baby gets here.

I, myself, am a little concerned.

Hannah, loves attention, but only on her terms.

She'll come up and paw at you if she thinks it is time for her belly to be rubbed.

I came home the other night to this.

Jeremy and Hannah hanging out on the couch, and of course Hannah getting a belly rub.

Here's a cute picture of Hannah in her jacket.

No I'm not one of those crazy ladies who dresses my dog in outfits.

It's her only one; she only wears it when it's cold and she is shivering.

Here's Hannah showing off her tricks.

"FREEZE"

"BANG " (that's her playing dead)

and then "STAY"
She has to sit until we tell her to get the treat, aka cheerios.

So until the baby gets here she has our undivided attention.

I know she will do great with the baby, she is such a sweet dog.

We might just get a few days of that attitude she is known for.

The only thing that I'm afraid of is toy and blankets.

As of right now any toy and any blanket she believes belongs to her.

All we can do is wait and see....

Baby's First Presents

The baby officially has stuff! Looks like I'm going to need to carve out a place in one of the guests room for the baby's gear.

The baby's first present was given to me by one of my good friends from church. It is a really cool bib. It is waterproof, has the little flap to catch food, and is machine washable. If this baby is anything like me - we are going to need that.

On Thursday I headed to Austin to work out of our corporate office for a couple days. When I arrived in the office the girls that I work with had put together this adorable basket!

I think it is sooo cute. One of the girls painted the card. They fixed us up. It has one of those cute adorable baby robes, towel, hand puppet wash cloth, set of wash cloths, 3 rubber ducky's that squirt water out and then the little toy. I thought it was absolutely precious and am so proud of it!

The next present is still a mystery to me, lol. Friday night after I got back from Austin the doorbell rang. It was dark outside and our front porch light was out, so I was a little hesitant to open the door. Finally I got the nerve up and opened it. There laying on the mat was a small Victoria's Secret bag. I'm thinking what in the world is this?!?!? I pick it up still not knowing what in the world I'm going to find in this bag. In it was this night light.

So I'm still on trial and error on which neighbor dropped it by. I think I have it figured out, it's just odd walking up to your neighbor and asking them if they gave you a present. Whoever did I think it is really cool. One thing though, I'm not sure if it is upside down, lol. That is the only way it will fit in our sockets. Oh well, upside down or not I'm still going to use it.

Lots of love~
